Detectors for infrared radiation (IR) are important devices for measurement systems in scientific research as in Infrared Spectrometry where quantitative analysis is performed for various chemical compounds.
Detectors are the critical components in precise measurements systems, so that testing of detectors is essential for achieving maximum precision in quantitative analysis. More, infrared detectors are the most important devices in many automation systems, which require also calibration of detectors.
Within the .Department for applications and valorization. at the National Institute of Materials Physics (NIMP) has been set up and fully equipped, at the standards for accredited testing laboratories, a new laboratory, INDETIR .Laboratory for complex characterization of IR detectors..
A Quality Management System has been developed and implemented in the INDETIR laboratory, according to the provisions of the International Standard SR EN ISO / IEC 17025:2005.
INDETIR is the first laboratiry in Romania for complex characterization of IR detectors and this will be the support for broadening the range of testing provided for all the institutions and companies interested in evaluation of conformity of their detectors with the provisions of the international standards.
NIMP obtained for the INDETIR laboratory the certification of RENAR (Romanian Accreditation Association, the National Accreditation Body, www.renar.ro ), certification valid worldwide, for complex characterization of IR detectors (test structures or industrial devices).
INDETIR laboratory is available for testing of IR detectors used in the research within co-operation for scientific projects or for service provided to the industry for manufacturers of IR detectors or equipments using IR detectors.
